Zach and Tilde were so tired the next day at school after giving it all the day before at the Ripper Rugby Tournament. We were scared they were going to fall asleep on the mat. Well done to all those who participated.

SCIENCE
We were looking again at water quality for science and the different ways a good scientist could test any waterway for the quality of its water and signs of pollution. We are looking at the local Utuhina Stream. The first test was a clarity test using a clarity tube. We then sifted through net samples taken by Mr Bach from the stream to look for macro invertebrates (water bugs). We found some crayfish (koura) which is a good sign.

Week 5
Thanks to all the helpers for Friday's Cross Country! It was a great success. Also to all those who were able to attend Pentecost Mass -thank you.
Remember the spelling lists are up on the blog under "homework", your child needs to work on these each night as well as reading books. There is a spelling test Friday.

This is for anyone to attend who would like to know more about the unique aspects we cover at St Mary’s and the promotion of Catholic values as a Catholic School. We will look into the RE content taught, Sexuality programme taught, expectations and community spirit as well. WHEN: 5.30 - 6.30pm, Wednesday 31st May 2017, WHERE: St Mary’s School, Rooms 14. WHO: New families, those interested in continuing in the Catholic education system via JPC.
Teachers have a Literacy meeting on Tuesday straight after school. So please be aware we need to rush off on this day. If you have something you need to talk to us about please email us so we can arrange a time to catch-up.
Thank you.
Our class prayer book is very popular..the students are enjoying the opportunity to take it home. We have had some great additions in the book. Thank you again for your involvement with this initiative.
Soon Mr Bach and Mrs Hall will send out a parent survey on the collaborative classroom. Please do respond to the on-line survey. It helps us with looking at our next steps and what parents see as the pros and cons of this teaching style.
Have a grand week.
